It’s important you read and understand the nomination requirements and selection criteria before writing and submitting your nomination. The following guidelines have been created to assist you in producing a quality nomination.
WHO CAN NOMINATE?
A nomination for the 'AUSTSWIM Teacher' award categories can be submitted by anyone - colleagues, clients, friends etc.

Nominations must include detailed information that directly addresses all areas of the selection criteria, including clear and substantiated examples of each.
Nominations should provide suitable examples to demonstrate the nominees breadth and depth of skills, experience and knowledge of all areas of the selection criteria.
The nomination should reflect the nominees involvement in, understanding of and compliance with AUSTSWIM’s code of behaviour, objectives and guidelines for teaching swimming and water safety.
Nominations that are in contravention of AUSTSWIM Guidelines for Teaching Swimming and Water Safety &/or Code of Behaviour and Objectives will not be considered.
AUSTSWIM Licence is current and appropriate and relevant for the Award.
Experience, Average hours per week, Class types, Other relevant employment
Professional presentation. Responsible, efficient and cheerfully confident. Positive attitude & consistent class preparation.
Safety & risk management, supervision qualities. Communication – feedback & listening.
Modify & adapt lesson based on AUSTSWIM Learning Pillars. Teaching strategies & techniques including
Stand out leader qualities and an effective teamworker. An AUSTSWIM Assessor. Offers mentor support efficiently. Evidence of excellent customer service skills.
Additional responsibilities and contributions in the workplace. Commitment to ongoing personal & professional learning & development (other than re-license requirements). Commitment to industry.
