AUSTSWIM Recognised Swim Centre Award Nomination Guidelines
It’s important you read and understand the nomination requirements and selection criteria before writing and submitting your nomination. The following guidelines have been created to assist you in producing a quality nomination.
Nomination Requirements
WHO CAN NOMINATE?
A nomination for the 'AUSTSWIM Recognised Swim Centre' award category can be submitted by anyone - employees, clients etc.
It's important to note that the AUSTSWIM Recognsied Swim Centre Award Category is open to all recognised venues, small and large.

ELIGIBILITY:
- To be eligible for an award the nominee must be able to demonstrate considerable experience and/or knowledge in all areas of the selection criteria. It is recommended that nominators seek information from the nominee regarding the accuracy and veracity of claims.
- A nominee can only be entered under one award category.
- Nominees must hold a current and appropriate AUSTSWIM accreditation to be eligible for consideration of an award.
Selection Criteria Guidelines
Nominations must include detailed information that directly addresses all areas of the selection criteria, including clear and substantiated examples of each.
Nominations should provide suitable examples to demonstrate the nominees breadth and depth of skills, experience and knowledge of all areas of the selection criteria.
The nomination should reflect the nominees involvement in, understanding of and compliance with AUSTSWIM’s code of behaviour, objectives and guidelines for teaching swimming and water safety.
Nominations that are in contravention of AUSTSWIM Guidelines for Teaching Swimming and Water Safety &/or Code of Behaviour and Objectives will not be considered.
SECTION A - EMPLOYEE DETAILS:
In 200 words or less provide an idea of the centres commitment to ongoing development of staff across the AUSTSWIM extension courses including the number of employees that hol each of the following Licenses:
Teachers employed at the Swim Centre
AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety™ License
AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics™ License
AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics for People with a Disability™ License
AUSTSWIM Teacher of Towards Competitive Stroke™ License
AUSTSWIM Teacher of Adults™ License
SECTION B - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
Describe in 200 words or less how the organisation displays a commitment to developing their AUSTSWIM teachers by providing ongoing professional development opportunities. For the past 12 month period, provide the details of Professional Development opportunities and the involvement of the staff. This may be in-house training, AUSTSWIM provided workshops and industry conferences etc.
SECTION C - AUSTSWIM TRAINEE TEACHERS:
In 200 words or less for the past 12 months, provide clear examples and evidence that supports the schools contact with AUSTSWIM trainees, detail how your approach to trainees supports AUSTSWIM.
SECTION D - INITIATIVES:
In 200 words or less provide clear examples and evidence that supports the initiatives undertaken to gain and maintain AUSTSWIM teachers in your program.
SECTION E - COMMUNITY EDUCATION:
In 200 words or less provide clear examples and evidence that supports how the organisation has made a significant and tangible contribution towards educating the community on water safety through various methods including promotions, special events, open days, brochures, media etc. (attach promotional material, newspaper articles).
SECTION F - PROGRAMS:
In 200 words or less describe how the organisation provides a wide scope of learn to swim and water safety programs catering for all ages, abilities and community groups.
SECTION G - PROMOTION:
In 200 words or less, provide clear examples and evidence that supports the organisation promoting AUSTSWIM.
SECTION H - ACHIEVEMENTS:
In 200 words or less provide clear examples and evidence of achievements in the aquatic industry in relation to providing swimming and water safety programs.
SECTION J - OTHER:
This section allows you to include any other information you feel relvant.
