How to enrol

In order to become an AUSTSWIM teacher, you will need to complete the Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate. This is the base qualification that you must gain before you can attempt any of the elective courses.

Step 4

When your enrolment has been received and processed, you will receive a confirmation letter in the mail. Please check all details (locations, times, dates) to ensure they are correct. A list of what you will need to bring to the course will also be included. If you chose to complete Part 1 via CD ROM, you will also receive the CD, a course manual, and a course resource folder.

 
 
AUSTSWIM advises that course details are subject to change and every attempt will be made to advise candidates. Updates can be found under the Find a Course link. In the event of the course being cancelled due to insufficient enrolments candidates will be offered a full refund or may elect to transfer to another course without penalty.

The South Australian AUSTSWIM state conference this year is looking very exciting now that the program is in the process of being finalised. We’ve just secured a guest speaker and are thrilled that we’ve managed to get this person on board! Presenters Course

AUSTSWIM are now collecting expressions of interest for a AUSTSWIM presenters course in South Australia. The course is to be held on November 6th & 7th so if you’ve ever thought about becoming an AUSTSWIM presenter of Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety™ and earning a bit of extra money on weekends, please contact us now at sa@austswim.com.au. 

 

Essential Pre requisites:

  •   Holds or is willing to work towards a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) or holds a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (BSZ40198)
  •   Current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety licence™
  •   At least 2 years of school aged teaching experience encompassing a minimum of 300 hours (with a range of age, ability and class sizes).

 

2010 SA AUSTSWIM and DECS State Awards Coctail Function

In conjunction with the SA AUSTSWIM Aquatic Education Seminar 2010; AUSTSWIM and DECS would like to invite members of the aquatic industry to join us at the 2010 SA AUSTSWIM & DECS State Awards Cocktail Function.

This night is open to all in the industry as well as their friends and family and is a great opportunity to socialise and network with your peers while taking the opportunity to recognise
and congratulate the nominees and recipients for their contribution to AUSTSWIM and Aquatic Education in South Australia.

• SA Presenter of the Year Award

• SA AUSTSWIM Swimming and Water Safety School of the Year Award

• SA Most Outstanding Contribution to AUSTSWIM Award

Remember without your nominations there is no way for us to recognise those individuals and organisations that are committed to making a difference in learn to swim and water safety. Don’t just think about nominating someone!

Reminder: Recipients of the SA AUSTSWIM State awards are automatically nominated for the AUSTSWIM National Awards 2011 in their respective categories.

 

 

Information for SACE Students


The Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia is now recognising the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate as part of the South Australian Certificate of Education. It is the equivalent to 1 Stage 2 unit. Please contact us by phone or email for further information.
